The Accelerating Entrepreneurship for Social Inclusion (AeSI)

The Accelerating Entrepreneurship for Social Inclusion (AeSI) initiative, which is backed by the SBI Foundation and executed by Development Alternatives, seeks to enhance inclusive rural entrepreneurship via social innovation and financial inclusion. In Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, the project is carried out by Swami Vivekanand Shiksha Samiti (SVSS), concentrating on empowering women and youth from marginalized communities.

Objective

·       Establish 550 micro-enterprises and create 1,500 jobs in Mirzapur

·       Assist 50 micro-entrepreneurs through innovative credit models, resulting in 500 additional jobs

·       Enhance the capabilities of SBI Foundation affiliates and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) utilizing tools developed under Work 4 Progress (W4P)

Key Highlights

·       444 new micro-enterprises initiated by women and youth

·       356 businesses led by women established during this phase

·       200 women obtained microfinance loans to support enterprise growth

·       216 enterprises connected to markets to enhance sustainability

·       150 women received training in entrepreneurship and vocational skills

·       300 women and youth educated in business operations and financial literacy

·       10 workshops held on enterprise skills and marketing

·       220 enterprises aided through coalition facilitation

·       12 monthly meetings involved over 200 individuals for mentoring and coordination

·       15 communities engaged through entrepreneurial awareness tools

The project persistently promotes entrepreneurial ecosystems, bolsters women’s economic involvement, and cultivates resilient rural economies through localized, inclusive models.
