| Swami Vivekanand Shiksha Samiti (SVSS) was founded by a large congregation of like minded social activists under the leadership of Mr. Uma Shankar Srivastava, a veteran self-less social activist of the time to pursue issues, normally considered less important and insignificant. These social activists were greatly inspired by the 19th century social reformist Swami Vivekanand, who took the world by storm with his preaching. |
| Over the years, SVSS has emerged as a non-political, secular, non-profit organisation. It works for the cause of women, children, youths, downtrodden and other weaker sections of the society. SVSS is registered as a society under the (Indian) Societies Registration Act, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act and Section 12-A of the Income Tax Act. |
